This past Wednesday I had the opportunity to photograph an aspiring cartoonist. Robert was full of enthusiasm and was wonderful to work with. This was his first professional photoshoot and he did amazing for his first time. We hit a few bumps early on trying to get natural poses that didn't look so...posed. Once I got him to relax and completely shake off the unnatural posed looks we got some amazing shots that both of us were really proud of. This was shot using natural daylight and then a flash to blowout the white background This was taken with a 28" softbox at a 45 degree angle that you can see the catch light from off his sunglasses. I also had a white reflector to fill in the shadows on the right side. Then to separate him from the background I used a flash with a grid on the background to create that hotspot. This was taken with natural light and just a white reflector directly in front of him.
San Diego Headshots This past week I had the pleasure of working with Brigitt Reddy, a 13 year-old aspiring actress. Before the shoot began I got to know Brigitt and what her hobbies were and I was astonished at how active and productive she is for her age. She absolutely loves horse back riding and even has her own youtube channel for horseback riding.
Typically when i have worked with teenagers or children it is very difficult to break them out of their shell and to open up in front of the camera, but Brigitt was an exception to the rule. Within minutes she was a total natural posing for her headshots and portraits. It certainly helped having the natural daylight at the new photography studio in downtown San Diego. Using natural daylight in most of her shots allowed for us to get a variety of shots in such a short period of time. Below are just a few of the headshots and portraits we took that day. The Right Light Photography will be on the campus of SDSU on April 14th, 2010 with a booth offering portrait sessions for students for only $25. For that $25 you will have the option to have your Graduation Photo taken (gown will be available) or a professional photo to put on your resume or social networking profiles before you got job hunting. We want to ask our fans what you think of this idea and if you will take advantage of this offer. At least one of them. We just received a letter from Google's headquarters notifying us that we were selected as a "Favorite Place on Google." The San Diego Photography Classes and our studio/office has been seen by thousands of people searching on Google and has had favorable responses from visitors. This is how Google determines their selection. They base it on relevance of the content on the websites, where they are located, how many people search for the business, and how many people interact with the Google Local Listing.
We are really excited about this honor and are offering a 10% discount to throughout the month of December. If you book your event in the month of December we will offer you a 10% discount. Hi Everyone,
Last Sunday was my first photoshoot on San Diego State's campus since the calendars almost a year ago. It reminded of how beautiful SDSU's campus really is and how there are so many different secluded spots that you can have a photoshoot at. Bianca is the girlfriend of a fellow entrepreneur, Anothony Baca. Anthony called me a few weeks ago looking to surprise Bianca with a photoshoot. Being in front of the camera is something that comes natural to Bianca and she seems to really enjoy it as well. I posted just a few of the photos from the shoot but I will probably add more later Yesterday was the first ever free photoshoot giveaway photoshoot with Miranda May, one of our two contest winners. The shoot was early Monday morning from 8am-10am and we took a variety of different shots in different locations throughout Mission Beach. Jason Kirby, the owner of the The Right Light Photography was the photographer for the shoot and made sure their was a good mix of cute, funny, sexy, and serious poses and photos taken throughout the morning. Miranda mentioned that this was her first time ever doing something like this, and I am going to have to say she did exceptionally well for her first time. Not only was it her first professional photoshoot, but it was a 2 hour full blown session. She was upbeat the entire time and was there to have fun. Her good and upbeat mood showed in the pictures. Make sure to check out the photos below.
